We know that education is one of the key's to a better life. Education allows unknown talents to be brought to the surface and explored for success. It motivates oneself to search for one’s potential, however big or small and to reach higher dimensions. With this said, FEH looks at its past years involved in education and which started with a small group of orphan children, and we work to grow our educational program to meet the needs of today's challenges.
Hope Home, established in 1993 works to support children with physical and mental disabilities. Here they continue to be nurtured with love and dignity receiving the emotional support and intellectual stimulation needed by all children.
The success of the first elementary school lead to the creation of 2 more elementary schools. The goal was to attract as many vulnerable children as possible and provide them the education they need to make the world a better place. FEH has realized that every child is a vulnerable child regardless of their situation, creed or color. FEH strives now to bring all children together with the mentality that we are all the product of a loving God who brought us together to love one another, then we work to reach such a goal, a solid education.
Looking into higher education opportunity for many children and young people was a dream of FEH. In Education, there is no reinventing the wheel, so FEH wanted to come alongside other institutions to make the field of education available to the children of Haiti.
SUSTAINABILITY AT THE SCHOOLS
Unfortunately, money is at the roots of all successful plans. FEH through constant prayer and hope & faith, has been blessed with several wonderful donors who believe in the vision of FEH and have shared their blessings to touch many lives. FEH, however, insists on instilling the principles of dignity, respect and responsibility in Haitian families and not just their children. We work with each Haitian family to be proud of the work their kids are doing, and we ask that each child pay a fee to help meet the financial needs of the schools. Not every family is financially able, and we work to provide scholarships for children with no means. FEH, currently has no endowment for salaries, necessary equipment, maintenance and scholarships. Ongoing efforts must always be made to assure the excellent vision FEH upholds.
Staffing has not been easy, however the teaching staff has been on continuing education programs to keep up with ongoing curriculum's at a high standard. The high passing scores of the students at state exams prove that the students are being taught by competent teachers. Aiming always, higher, the continuing education is also part of the education programs at FEH.
